At Beyond the Breast, my goal is to help educate, empower and support expectant and new parents to overcome challenges and meet their infant feeding goals with confidence from birth to beyond the breast.
I’m Heather Martin, IBCLC, and I’m so glad you found me! Seriously — just looking for support is a huge step and I’m proud of you for taking it. Whether you are brand new to this whole baby thing or adding another little one to your crew, feeding challenges can pop up and throw you for a loop.

With a prenatal visit to lay the foundation, a “Baby’s Here” visit to get feeding off to a strong start, two follow-up sessions to fine-tune and troubleshoot, one virtual visit for flexible support, and three full months of ongoing access—you’re never alone in this.

1: Prenatal Prep- From Bump to Breast or Bottle
What to expect in the first few days and weeks, milk production, colostrum collection, hand expression, milk storage and signs of success or concern.
2: Welcome Baby!
Initial latch & Positioning assistance, assess initial milk transfer, assess breast health and oral assessment of baby.
Put together a care plan for your first two weeks at home
2: Latching Success/Follow Up
Assessment of weight gain, milk transfer and your care plan- we’ll make any adjustments that are needed3: Follow-up Virtual visit to check baby’s progress and ensure you feel comfortable with your feeding routine
